Titus 2 Study (Week 6 recap)
Man, this was another great week in this Bible study. It was jam packed with so much scripture. There are so many aspects to “being good”. In the world we live in today, “good” seems to be a hard to find character trait. Much less a way of life. Good seems like such a simple word. But, when you break it down like Mrs. Taylor has, I realize there is much more to this four letter word than it initally lets on.
I had two “favorite” parts, or parts that really stuck out for me this week.
The first part was about “Good and Gracious Speech”. Mrs. Taylor has given us some great scripture to memorize concerning the area of a Christian woman’s speech. I know this was a convicting section of the chapter for me, personally! Is your speech…
- Sound? Titus 2:8
- Seasoned? Col 4:6
- Quiet? Proverbs 9:13
- Timely? Prov 25:11
- Acceptable? Ps 19:11
Can you check all those boxes? If not, write down the verses that you need help with and memorize them and pray over them. God will lead you toward a resolution.
The second part that I think we as Christian women can really glean a lot from was “Good to Those Who Aren’t So Good to Us”. Did that get to anybody else like it did me? Raise your hand if she was right when she said that many of us have learned valuable lessons in the storm that we would never have learned in the calm… I can testify to that! Both of my hands are raised. God has taught me so much through these so called “critics”.
A critic doesn’t necessarily have to be your arch nemesis. A critic can simply be someone that throws an off handed comment your way. Critics come in all shapes and sizes. The important thing to remember is how to handle them. Do you handle them like Romans 12:20-21 tells us to?
“Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.“
Now, that sister, takes some goodness and a whole lot of prayer. Don’t forget Proverbs 16:7…
“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.“
This last week is going to be another good one. I’m so glad you have stuck it out through these last 6 weeks. I know it has helped me and I hope it has helped you just the same! Below is your calendar for our last week!
