Titus 2 Study (Week 4 recap)

Didn’t I tell y’all this week was going to be hard. But wasn’t it so good?

Discreet

Did you define the words in the section where the book gives a definition of what it means to be discreet on page 87? There is some powerful language there. How about that word “temperate”? “Prudent”? And “modest without pretense”? Later in the chapter she tacks on a few little words that give a lot of us pause… “meek and quiet spirit”

So, here are some words that should describe us… of a sound mind, curbs desires and impulses, temperate, calm, cool, reserved in speech and behavior, prudent, cautious, wise, careful, modest without pretense.

Does that sound like you? If not, I know the person that can give you a makeover! Once we realize that living the life that God has created us for is so freeing, we can stop looking at it as a burden and enjoy it and the journey.

Don’t forget that we are role models by either default or design. Eyes are watching you. Be carful of putting too much emphasis on your appearance. The goal isn’t to be a beauty queen, it’s to be a good steward of what God has given you and that is something we need to be portraying in our action and our dress. Don’t loose sight of the things God holds in high regard and replace them with things the world thinks are most important.

Chaste

“We need to place a high priority on living a holy life in order to bring honor and glory to the Lord.” This sentence, really this chapter, was so so good for my soul. If more of us would place a priority on God and the Bible, then living out that things in the Bible wouldn’t be so foreign or unfamiliar. It would do us all some good to reevaluate our current standard of holiness and try to bump it up a notch.

I can’t wait for week 5! It’s all about our jobs at home! Something I love! Here’s your calendar for next week.
