Topical Journal
If you’re like me, you’ve heard of a “topical journal” but never knew how to get one started. Well, I’ve got that covered for you! I’m going to take all the guess work out of it for you. I’ve created two printables to get you started and I’ll be adding more to the collection weekly.
A topical journal in its most basic form is just a notebook that you store as a quick guide to common words or problems found in scripture. I’m starting off our journal with “contentment” and “affliction”. So, the idea is, whenever you have a problem, you get out your journal and your Bible. You then flip to the page in your journal that contains the related encouragement or trial, and you get to reading your Bible and praying. If you’re experiencing some sort of affliction, then you have multiple Bible verses and scripture to turn to for help.
A Bible is a Christian’s greatest tool, but we all too often don’t use it enough or properly.
All you need is some type of 3 ring binder or folder and a printer. These printables have been a labor of love for me. I’ve designed them myself, looked everything up, and read all of the associated verses.
I hope this journal can become a labor of love for you, too. I’ve provided you with two pages for every word or phrase. The first page is your information page. It contains the highlights for the associated word. The second page, is a page for you own personal notes. Use it to write out specific verses that mean the most to you on the topic. Use it to jot down things that I wasn’t able to fit on the information page, Or, use it for your own personal notes. Just use it!
So, without further adieu, here are your first printables! I hope you’ll share them!
I am so glad you are doing this
Thank you Mrs. Wendy!
Thank you for this, Quortney! You have inspired a new love of bible reading/studying for me.
I can’t say thank you enough. You are such a blessing and encouragement!
